Nicolas Roeg's adaptation of Lucy Irvine's bestseller based on her own experiences. Oliver Reed stars as a publisher whose newspaper advert for a 'wife' to accompany him for a year in the tropics is answered by bored London tax clerk Amanda Donohoe. The two hit it off and embark on their adventure, only to find paradise isn't all it's cracked up to be. The actors give it their all, but it's hard to sympathise with the characters
