A criminal out to make easy money to support his pregnant wife dies during a botched armed robbery, but gets the chance to return from Heaven 15 years later to help his family and teach his daughter a valuable lesson. Colourful adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's toe-tapping fantasy musical, starring Gordon MacRae (in a role originally offered to Frank Sinatra), Shirley Jones, Cameron Mitchell, Barbara Ruick and Gene Lockhart. Sadly, this offering proved relatively unsuccessful at the box office, and became the only Rodgers and Hammerstein film to receive no mention at the Academy Awards.
