Movie (1976)
Utterly fabulous feelgood musical comedy set to a toe-tapping disco beat. The action follows the frenetic events at a jumpin' New York car wash, as employees go about their everyday business and deal with their many and madcap personal problems. Added to the mix are a crazed bomber, who's terrorising the neighbourhood, and an offensively wealthy churchman (played in hilarious fashion by Richard Pryor, in the first of three films starring the comic legend shown this week). With Franklyn Ajaye and Sully Boyar. Written by Joel Schumacher, with a funky soundtrack by former Motown songwriter Norman Whitfield
