Synopsis:
Muted drama about the resistance of Irish farmers to a tyrannical landowner in the late 19th century. They're sick and tired of his brutality, so when he learns of their unhappiness he attempts to change public perceptions of him - but his efforts look to be too little, too late. Cecil Parker takes the title role, starring alongside Stewart Granger, Mervyn Johns and Alastair Sim, with a cameo appearance by Robert Donat
