The arrival of secretive neighbours sparks an unhealthy curiosity in a group of friends, leading them to go to bizarre lengths to discover the truth about the newcomers. Just what is it they're doing in their basement late at night that creates such weird noises? When an elderly resident disappears, they begin to suspect their unseen fellow suburbanites are part of a cannibalistic cult. Joe Dante's satirical black comedy stars Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Corey Feldman and Henry Gibson.
