Powerful film noir melodrama from Jacques Tourneur about a private eye forced to go on the run for making the fatal mistake of falling in love with the woman he's being paid to follow - who turns out to be his gangster employer's ruthless former girlfriend. Starring Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, Kirk Douglas and Rhonda Fleming. Excellent stuff, definitely one to watch
