Bugsy

Elegant fact-based crime thriller, starring Warren Beatty as New York gangster Bugsy Siegel, who is sent to Los Angeles to take over the West Coast rackets, but falls for a glamorous starlet and embarks on a business venture to turn Las Vegas into a gamblers' paradise. Barry Levinson's offering undoubtedly lends the underworld a certain sheen, but never fails to convince, thanks to Oscar-nominated performances from Beatty and co-stars Harvey Keitel and Ben Kingsley. Annette Bening, who went on to marry Beatty in 1992, also stars.
