Breakfast of Champions

Bruce Willis puts his hard man image on hold for this comedy romp, based on the novel by Kurt Vonnegut, set in a small midwestern town populated by eccentric characters. Willis stars as a wealthy car salesman who is fast losing touch with reality and on the brink of suicide. A chance encounter with Kilgore Trout, a science fiction writer with an overactive imagination, offers him a chance to turn his troubled life around. The book's satirical attacks on the American dream are smothered under the over-the-top performances and inconsistent tone.
