Fantastical and fabulous dark satire, starring Jonathan Pryce as a daydreaming statistician whose discovery of a clerical error concerning a convict's name in the Ministry of Information files leads to conflict and disaster. Terry Gilliam's inventive Orwellian nightmare is perhaps his finest hour, blending surreal comedy and bleak, disturbing imagery.
