Movie (2002)
A high school student is forced to care for her troubled younger sister while her single mother is busy working. Struggling to stop her personal problems affecting her school work, the determined teenager vents her feelings through verse, inspiring her English teacher to enter her in a poetry competition. Karen Moncrieff's directorial debut, which deals with the troubles of a young carer with a subtle honesty, while never losing the drama's gritty realism. Agnes Bruckner stars in the lead role, with David Strathairn as the influential tutor
