Movie (1989)
Comedy based on stories by Damon Runyon, following the events at a glittering bash on New Year's Eve 1928 in New York. Among the tales featured are a gambler desperately looking for a way to clear his debts at all costs, and a man who has been stabbed wandering the city in search of a blood donor. The all-star cast, including Julie Hagerty, Randy Quaid, Madonna, Ethan Phillips, Matt Dillon, Rutger Hauer, Steve Buscemi, Jennifer Grey and Josef Sommer, manage to raise this from the doldrums, but it's still no masterpiece
