Anne Hathaway stars as a young Jane Austen in this fictional historical drama. While Jane's parents are desperate to find her a wealthy husband, she remains determined to marry for love. Dashing but penniless lawyer Tom Lefroy soon catches the future writer's eye, but their romance meets with disapproval from both their families.
