James Stewart and Dean Martin are cast against type in this Western with a blackly comic sense of humour about an outlaw who manages to escape the noose when his brother poses as a hangman. Together, they go on the run with a hostage in tow and the sheriff in hot pursuit, but it's not long before they encounter a group of deadly Mexican bandits.
