Movie (2003)
Premiere. A teenage girl living in post-Taleban Kabul secretly defies her father by attending a secular school for girls. As her teacher encourages her to run for class president, she dreams of becoming her country's leader, inspired by the example of Benazir Bhutto, and also strikes up a friendship with a refugee poet. Insightful drama, with an impressive lead performance from Agheleh Rezaie. Also starring Abdolgani Yousefrazi, Razi Mohebi and Marzieh Amiri. The Joy of Madness, a documentary on the making of the film was also produced.
