Movie (1979)
Francis Ford Coppola's superb and highly acclaimed Vietnam War epic about a world-weary US Army captain (Martin Sheen) assigned to penetrate deepest Cambodia and assassinate an insane renegade colonel (Marlon Brando, in a powerful role). Robert Duvall's performance as surf-crazy Kilgore is stunning, and even after repeated viewings, this remains one of the best war movies in history. Frederic Forrest, Sam Bottoms, Dennis Hopper and a young Laurence Fishburne also star, with a cameo by Harrison Ford. Harrowing, but unmissable and compelling stuff.
