Spoiled rich girl Jean Simmons involves family chauffeur Robert Mitchum in the murder of her mother and stepfather, then directs her homicidal tendencies toward him. Otto Preminger's fascinating, although sometimes faintly ludicrous melodrama, milks all it can from the old adage that appearances can be deceptive.
