The crew of a cargo spacecraft inadvertently pick up a malevolent, seemingly indestructible life-form which slaughters them one by one. Ridley Scott's sci-fi masterpiece boasts a truly terrifying monster designed by artist HR Giger, and stars Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Harry Dean Stanton, Yaphet Kotto and Veronica Cartwright, with Ian Holm on brilliant chilling form as emotionless science officer Ash, and John Hurt, who becomes the creature's first victim during a memorable dinner scene
