Richard Burton takes top billing in this epic but ill-judged, historical drama, playing the legendary Macedonian warrior who conquered the known world at a ridiculously early age. Fredric March appears as the hero's father, while Claire Bloom, Peter Cushing and Danielle Darrieux co-star. The story has been brought back to life more recently in Oliver Stone's spectacular but not very well-received Alexander
