Movie (1965)
Sculptor Michelangelo clashes with Pope Julius II while carrying out the monumental task of painting the enormous ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Overlong but lavish historical drama, starring Charlton Heston and Rex Harrison as the protagonists, with Diane Cilento and Harry Andrews. Unfortunately, neither Heston nor Harrison is well-suited to his role, which detracts from the story somewhat. Adapted from the novel by Irving Stone and directed by Carol Reed
