A discredited aristocrat vows to regain her wealth and title by enlisting three equally devious men and stealing a priceless necklace intended as a gift for Queen Marie Antoinette - with no concern for who she destroys in the process. Dismal, dreary and confusing period drama, ostensibly based on actual events. Unfortunately, leading lady Hilary Swank (who won her second Best Actress Oscar) is totally unsuited to the role she's playing, while co-stars Jonathan Pryce, Joely Richardson and Christopher Walken simply look uncomfortable and embarrassed
