A blind playwright overhears a conversation in a London pub concerning a kidnapped child. He goes straight to the police, but they dismiss his story as the product of an overactive imagination, forcing him to take matters into his own hands. With the help of his fiancee and secretary, he sets out to rescue the child and catch the crooks - but his only clue is the scent of a distinctive perfume.
