A scientist's research trip comes to an abrupt end when he and his team are taken prisoner by the power-mad captain of a futuristic undersea craft. They soon learn the maniacal mariner is obsessed with vengeance - and realise they must stop him wreaking any more havoc. This adaptation of Jules Verne's classic novel is disappointing, with poor acting and a host of unnecessary changes to the original plot. Richard Crenna and Michael Jayston star
