Sidney Lumet's masterly drama, chronicling the debate raging between 12 jurors as they attempt to come to a verdict in a murder trial. While the overwhelming majority believe the defendant is guilty, rational-minded Henry Fonda refuses to cave in to pressure, and passionately argues his case for his innocence. Lee J Cobb, Ed Begley, Martin Balsam and Jack Klugman also star. Virtually the entire film is set in one, sweltering hot room, and none of the characters are identified by name until the very end
