      Star Trek: The Motion Picture

Admiral James T Kirk returns to the bridge of the Enterprise for the first big screen outing for the venerable sci-fi franchise. A mysterious planet-sized energy force is moving through space, destroying everything in its path. Kirk is reunited with his old crew as they set out to discover what the invader is and how it can be stopped. But along the way he must contend with a bitter young rival desperate to assume command and one of his crew members being possessed by the aliens. It's certainly the most epic of the movie series, but is a little longer than it really needed to be. William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley all reprise their roles

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy tighten their corsets and take off once more for an impressive second big-screen spin-off from the popular sci-fi show. This time around, they face an old enemy out for revenge, leading to a bloody galactic battle that costs one of the crew members dearly. Arguably the best instalment in the series, also starring the late Ricardo Montalbán alongside DeForest Kelley, James Doohan and Kirstie Alley, in her movie debut

    • 5:00pm
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Admiral Kirk and his crew hijack the decommissioned Enterprise to recover the body of their fallen comrade Mr Spock from the planet Genesis. Kirk has learnt that Spock's spirit is still alive, and the Vulcan can be resurrected by reuniting his flesh with his soul. However, a power-crazed Klingon captain is also on the way, determined to wrestle control of the planet's mysterious energy. Sci-fi sequel, directed by Leonard Nimoy's, with William Shatner, DeForest Kelley and Christopher Lloyd

    • 7:30pm
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

The Starship Enterprise answers an emergency call and races to the rescue of intergalactic ambassadors held hostage on a distant planet. The crisis proves to be the handiwork of a renegade Vulcan mystic who kidnaps Captain Kirk and his crew, and orders them to fly to an unexplored world where he hopes to fulfil his insane ambition - to meet God. Disappointing sci-fi adventure, generally considered the low point of the series. Written, directed by and starring William Shatner, with Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley and James Doohan

    • 10:00pm
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

The Enterprise crew rush back to the 20th century to prevent the Earth's destruction by saving one of the planet's most precious life forms, the humpback whale - but have difficulty adjusting to a world completely alien from their own. Hugely enjoyable sci-fi adventure, the most comical of the Star Trek series, which sees William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley keeping their tongues firmly embedded in their cheeks
