      Do the Right Thing

      Spike Lee's fiercely confrontational drama is one of his best films to date, following racial tensions in a Brooklyn neighbourhood on the hottest day of the summer. The simmering conflicts erupt around the local pizza parlour run by Italian-American Sal (Danny Aiello) and his two sons, as a minor dispute gradually escalates into full blown violence. Lee himself stars as delivery boy Mookie, Sal's only black employee who is content to drift through life, but finds himself dragged into the heart of the confrontation.
