      The General's Daughter

John Travolta heads the cast of this fine thriller about an investigator assigned to look into the murder of a high-standing military man's daughter. However, as he embarks on his quest to see justice done, he uncovers an increasingly tangled web of sexual harassment, unhappy relationships and apparent cover-ups, and begins to suspect the Army have a vested interest in obscuring the facts. Good performances come from Madeleine Stowe and James Cromwell, while director Simon West adds customary style to the proceedings, but there are still a few too many ponderous patches
