      A dancer abandoned by his partner trains a chorus girl as a replacement. The new pairing proves a great success and, although he tries to keep their relationship strictly professional, he finds himself falling head over heels in love with her. Musical, starring Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, Peter Lawford, Jules Munshin and Ann Miller. Songs include A Couple of Swells, Stepping Out with My Baby and Shaking the Blues Away

      Mervyn LeRoy's involving musical recounting the rise to fame of striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee and her relationship with her ambitious mother, who was determined to make stars of both her daughters. When the older girl escapes the vaudeville circuit by getting married, the spotlight is thrown on her younger sister - but the only place she can find work is in a burlesque house, where the established strippers help her make it to the top. Rosalind Russell, Natalie Wood, Karl Malden, Paul Wallace and Betty Bruce star. Stephen Sondheim penned the lyrics for the Julie Styne score, which includes famed numbers Everything's Coming Up Roses, Let Me Entertain You and Small World
