Anthony Hopkins reprises his most famous role as Hannibal Lecter for this gripping thriller prequel. Edward Norton co-stars as Will Graham, the FBI agent who first captured Lecter, only to quit the bureau soon after. However, he is lured out of retirement when a demented murderer begins slaughtering entire families every full moon, forcing Graham to seek the imprisoned cannibal's expertise. Adapted from the first, and arguably best, of Thomas Harris' novels to feature Lecter, this effective chiller may not be in the same league as The Silence of the Lambs, but it does boast a top-notch cast, from Ralph Fiennes' creepy yet tragic killer to Philip Seymour Hoffman's sleazy tabloid hack.

Updated musical version of Romeo and Juliet by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, set in Fifties New York, where Natalie Wood's dangerous romance with Richard Beymer causes the already simmering tensions between rival street gangs the Jets and the Sharks to explode. One of the most successful films of all time, scooping a richly deserved 10 Academy Awards at the 1962 ceremony, and also starring Russ Tamblyn, Rita Moreno and George Chakiris in supporting roles. The film was faithfully adapted from the hugely popular stage play, not only retaining the vast majority of the script and songs, but even using much of the same incredibly complex choreography, making it a real cinematic spectacle

Ridley Scott's historical epic, set during the time of the Crusades, stars Orlando Bloom as a blacksmith who embarks on a voyage to Jerusalem, where he rises to knighthood and pledges to defend the city and its people. However, the city's ailing king has little time to live, and his efforts to maintain a fragile peace between Christians and Muslims seem doomed to die with him as factions on both sides scheme to seize power. Ridley Scott brings the medieval era vividly to life and assembles a first class cast, including Eva Green, Liam Neeson, Brendan Gleeson and Edward Norton, unrecognisable as the masked leper king.
