A Sound of ThunderA greedy businessman uses a time machine to organise prehistoric safaris, offering wealthy clients the chance to hunt dinosaurs. But when one of his customers accidentally kills an insect, the entire history of evolution is rewritten as a consequence, and the expedition returns to its own time to find the world overrun with strange creatures. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Once there, he embarks on a series of encounters with a host of magical characters and new friends, but his suspicions are aroused by a particularly sinister teacher who seems to be up to no good - so he sets out to discover whether double-dealing is afoot. Chris Columbus's blockbusting adventure - adapted from the first of JK Rowling's best-selling books - is crammed with detail, making it a visual treat, although the magical saga is perhaps still finding its big screen feet at this stage. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Robbie Coltrane, Alan Rickman, Richard Harris, Maggie Smith and Emma Watson star.
