      Romantic drama about the dilemma faced by the lovely Lady Guinevere, who must decide whether to stay with kind King Arthur who can protect her people from an evil renegade knight, or follow her heart and run away with dashing Sir Lancelot. The cast, including Sean Connery, Richard Gere, Julia Ormond and Ben Cross, are uniformly excellent. Good direction from Jerry Zucker, an intelligent script by William Nicholson and costumes by Terry English make this very easy on the eyes and ears, although it does lack some of the vim and vigour audiences might hope for
