      We Were Soldiers

Vietnam War drama chronicling the courage of the men involved in the first major battle of the conflict and the reactions of those waiting for news of their loved ones. Mel Gibson, Madeleine Stowe, Greg Kinnear and Chris Klein star. Sadly, much of this film, which is adapted from the memoirs of Harold G Moore and Joseph Galloway, fails to ring true - a problem compounded by the one-dimensional characters, although Gibson gives a typically solid performance in the lead.
