Disney's classic enchanting musical fantasy, starring Julie Andrews in an Oscar-winning role as Mary, the practically perfect Edwardian nanny who brings magical fun, laughter and adventure into the boring lives of a young brother and sister, Michael and Jane - much to the alarm of their disciplinarian father. Dick Van Dyke co-stars as the chirpy chimney sweep Bert, who joins the trio on their travels, complete with arguably the most infamous Cockney accent in cinema history. In a dual role, he also appears as Mr Dawes Senior. The songs include A Spoonful of Sugar, I Love to Laugh and the Oscar-winning Chim Chim Cher-ee. With Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber as the cute kids, and David Tomlinson and Glynis Johns as their perpetually flustered parents whose lives are also eventually changed by their childrens' nanny.

    ET: The Extra-Terrestrial

Watch 'ET: The Extra-Terrestrial' on DVD.
Steven Spielberg's delightful fantasy loses none of its charm on the small screen. For the uninitiated, it tells the tale of a lonely boy (Henry Thomas) befriended by a stranded alien. He's drawn into all manner of adventures as he and his friends attempt to return the creature to its home. This was the most lucrative film of all time (until Jurassic Park came along) and despite all the usual Spielberg trademarks - kids in suburbia, flashing lights, special effects - it's a real film from the heart. John Williams' outstanding soundtrack never fails to move, especially in the bike ride across the moon sequence. Look out for Drew Barrymore as the wide-eyed Gertie
