  • 5 ET: The Extra-Terrestrial

    ET: The Extra-Terrestrial

Watch 'ET: The Extra-Terrestrial' on TV.
Steven Spielberg's delightful fantasy loses none of its charm on the small screen. For the uninitiated, it tells the tale of a lonely boy (Henry Thomas) befriended by a stranded alien. He's drawn into all manner of adventures as he and his friends attempt to return the creature to its home. This was the most lucrative film of all time (until Jurassic Park came along) and despite all the usual Spielberg trademarks - kids in suburbia, flashing lights, special effects - it's a real film from the heart. John Williams' outstanding soundtrack never fails to move, especially in the bike ride across the moon sequence. Look out for Drew Barrymore as the wide-eyed Gertie
