Today Sesame Street celebrates its 40th birthday and they are certainly doing it in style. First Lady Michelle Obama is joining Big Bird (Caroll Spinney) and the rest of the gang for a day of fun and entertainment.
It’s hard to believe that a children’s entertainment show that first aired in November 1969 is still as popular now as it was then, perhaps even more so.
Other famous faces to have strolled down the street are David Beckham, Ricky Gervais, Backstreet Boys and the late Michael Jackson.
Let’s hope the success keeps on going for another 40 years
