BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Desperate Housewives will be over after the upcoming season, but there's no recession in the numbers of women gainfully employed in lead roles on ABC. Particularly in series of a more or less serious nature. All four of the network's new fall season dramas -- Charlie's Angels, Pan Am, Revenge and Once Upon a Time -- are fronted by females, with men mostly served as side dishes. Making room for them is a big chunk of cancellations, with the demise of Brothers & Sisters after five seasons the most notable subtraction. Its Sunday night post-Desperate Housewives slot will be inherited by the new Pan Am, a period piece celebrating the sex-alicious stewardesses of the 1960s. Also axed by ABC are V,… read more »

It was announced yesterday that Lost will participate in the first simulcast that sees countries from around the world, including the United Kingdom, air the same episode at the same time. Pretty exciting! This unprecedented scheduling will ensure UK fans don’t have to wait another five days after the initial airing of the season finale to find out what happens to the island inhabitants. Great news for some, shame it’ll be on at 5am GMT! Other countries participating in the simulcast are Italy, Spain, Turkey, Canada, Israel and Portugal. So after six years, Lost has finally come to an… read more »
