  2. What on Earth is 12am? 12 Midnight or 12 Noon?

  3. Hi Paul. 12am means 12 noon and 12pm means 12 midnight.

  4. No, that is incorrect. 1 AM follows 12 AM, correct? Therefore 12 AM is midnight. 12 PM is noon.

  5. Reverse that. 12 am is midnight.

  6. Not so, Ayla. It's the other way around. And because this DOES cause confusion, when referring to Midnight or Noon, AM and PM should *not* be used... but rather simply use the terms Midnight or Noon. For more information, check out:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12-hour_clock

Then... scroll down to the section: "Confusion at noon and midnight."

  7. 12 am is midnight, 12 pm is noon. AM morning, PM afternoon.

  8. Sorry you are right, I was wrong! I did know this but clearly having a dense moment. Thanks for correcting me! :)

  9. Okay, when in doubt, easy formula here. The new hour always starts at:00....
    12:00am, 12:01am, 12:02am, etc. Also, 12:00pm, 12:01pm, 12:02pm, etc.
So, 12am is midnight, and 12pm is afternoon. Easy formula.

  10. Thanks Genevieve...

For those who are still confused, and even though it is a little late because the wedding has aired, the am and pm in the blog was correct despite my incorrect response on the comments about what 12am means. Although to save confusion in the future and to prevent myself looking even more stupid, I'll use 12 midnight and 12 noon ;)
