LocateTV Site Issues

by on July 3rd 2012 at 5:35 pm

LocateTV is currently experiencing some site issues.

Unfortunately on Saturday our web servers went down which resulted in some of our users not receiving their weekly reminder email or not being able to access the site at all.

We have been working to fix the problems although the site isn't back to full functionality just yet. Some pages across the site, in particular the My LocateTV tab and its drop down pages, are showing an Error 500 message. We are aware of the problem and hoping it will be resolved as soon as possible.

Sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. Thank you for your patience during this time.

For more information on what caused the serves to crash, BBC News has written an article explaining how this affected us and other companies.

  1. It's July 9th, are the issues resolved? I'm trying to view a Rockies All Access episode and tried on my Mac and PC, and neither can bring up my pick. Thanks.

  2. Hi Dave,

Yes the site issues are resolved. Are you trying to watch episodes on LocateTV? You cannot watch online content directly on LocateTV. We provide links to online content where it is available to watch elsewhere, so Fox, ABC and Hulu for example.

  3. We are currently trying to watch the airing at DeSoto Middle School in Arcadia, Florida and there are no sound. Is anyone else having this problem? How do we let them know.

  4. Hi Nancye - there may have been an issue with the network, which one in particular was having issues? In such instances, it's always best to contact the network directly via their web site as we cannot help in these cases.

  5. I just signed up. Do not understand Locate TV. I selected my Channels: ON or OFF. But do not find the listing of MY Channels showing only the ON selected channels!

  6. Hi Harold, I will email you to explain better.

  7. Ayla,

Can Locate TV consider adding a filter to show movies that have 3 star rating or higher? Shockingly, there are no other online TV guides that do that ... so this will give you and edge. Most of us don't want to be inundated by a long list of movies (of which 90% are subpar). So please consider.

  8. Thanks for the suggestion, I have forwarded it to our development team. This sort of feature would first require us to add a rating system to the site, unless it is based on Rotten Tomato ratings.

  9. Ayla .. Rotten Tomatoes rating system would be *ideal* ... other option is metacritic rating. !!

  10. My tv schedule keeps coming up exactly one hour off. AZ does not do DST but I don't think your program knows that. Please fix. Thank you

  11. Hi Wendy. As LocateTV listings are set by time zone and not state, Arizona is out of sync by an hour and unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about it. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, Ayla.

  12. Hello Ayla,
You'll never hear any complaints from ME! I love love love your site; it's a FANTASTIC help to me!
May I inquire, is there a membership fee or donation link anywhere so I can help support your work?
    Best regards,

  13. Hi Doug - thank you for such lovely comments! There is no membership fee and we don't accept donations either - we are a completely free website with no ads. Thank you for your offer though... Plus if you haven't already found us, we're on FB http://www.facebook.com/locatetv & Twitter http://www.twitter.com/locatetv, Ayla
