I'm Proud of Mark Wahlberg

Good on ya, Mark Wahlberg.
I read a few articles this week regarding Mark's conduct at the premiere of his latest film 'Lone Survivor' and I was proud to call myself a fan.
After being asked about his experience shooting the film, which gives an account of an actual Navy SEAL mission gone wrong, Mark downplayed any difficulties he might have faced on set with these humble words:
"For actors to sit there and talk about, 'Oh I went to SEAL training,' I don't give a f--- what you did," he said. "I don't give a s--- if you're getting your ass busted. You get to go home at the end of the day, you get to go to your hotel room, you get to order f---ing chicken."
And he's exactly right.
Although we consider acting to be a prestigious and culturally important job, it is at the end of the day, a bit of pretending for fun and entertainment, and can be in no way comparable to the work of that of a soldier. Actors and actresses may sometimes have to step out of their comfort zones in order to prepare for a role, which presumably for this film, would have been some pretty strenuous military style training.
But the fact is, the actors would have done a bit of hard work before returning to a luxurious trailer or Hollywood mansion at the end of the day with the option to "order f---ing chicken", as Mark puts it. Not to mention the recognition and money they'll get for their time, which a soldier, especially a Navy SEAL in such a secretive position, would certainly not dream of, unless of course something goes terribly wrong, as in this case.
Somebody needs to keep our prized celebrities in check. So good on you Mark Wahlberg, stay humble.
