Last night I sat down to watch comedy sketch show: Dirty, Sexy, Funny: Olivia Lee. As an avid comedy show viewer, I sat in anticipation of laugh out loud pranks and hilarious practical jokes. I was however, very disappointed.
So I watched the Balls of Steel star carry out her tomfooleries only to be left feeling quite awkward and incensed. Her sketches were either boring, or offensive and deplorable. They included her standing in the middle of the road spraying silly string, play-acting a lady monotonously talking on a radio show about her cat and her play and also pretending to tattoo a penis on a woman's back. Funny? Hilarious? I think not. It was tedious and uninspiring.
A shocking sketch included Lee harassing a lady in her 60's; she confronted the lady at her own doorstep accusing her of being a murderer, terrorist and teaching kids how to make car bombs. She also claimed she was going to arrest her. And if that wasn't enough, a Bin Laden lookie-likey appeared, which petrified the poor lady!
Lee continued her 'comedy' by pretending to be an elderly lady whose back had arched forward so her face was to the floor, she was leaning on a zimmer frame, trying to get onto an escalator. The public were very concerned for the 'old lady' and were clearly quite bothered about the situation as they went out of their way to help her.
So I was left feeling pretty perturbed by this show and worrried what to expect in Olivia's next instalment. However, it has to be said, I can't help but wonder what dreadful sketches there are to fill a whole series! So next time I turn to Comedy Central, I'll be looking for Live at the Apollo or Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow instead of Olivia Lee. Or... will I?!
