by Susie on October 22nd 2009 at 9:14 am

Have you got an iPhone? Check.

Hate missing your favourite shows? Duh!

Well have we got the app for you!

FavouriteChannelsYou may have already seen the LocateTV iPhone App, but we’ve been working away to deliver a shiny new version to tickle all you techno/telly addicts.

Not only does it boast full TV listings and a ‘Now and Next’ schedule, but here’s the good bit; you can create your very own personal TV listings!

Using the ‘Favourite Channel’ function you can create a one-of-a-kind schedule based on the channels you’re interested in and ordered in the way you want. Now&Next
But LocateTV isn’t just about guides and lists, oh no! ‘Whatever you want to watch, however you want to watch it’- that’s our motto! So if you’ve missed last night’s episode of ‘FlashForward’ or fancy catching up with ‘Friends’ we can link you to your favourite online episodes and movies.

Other fancy new features include:

DVD availability and price comparisons

Cast information

Improved poster image viewing

Sharing your favourite items with friends

Integration with iTunes so you can download movies/TV straight to your mobile.

Plus, we’ve embedded LocateTV web views, so you never need to leave the application

Phew! And on top of all that we’ve enhanced the performance so you’ll get all this, and fast! Plus, it’s free to download!

So what are you waiting for? Download the app today.

LocateTV iPhone application

by Colin on February 3rd 2009 at 2:29 pm

We are pleased to announce that the new LocateTV iPhone application is now available for FREE from the Apple app store. Now iPhone and iPod touch owners can carry LocateTV in their pockets.

The application was created by a couple of enthusiastic developers in their spare time. Simply set your region and TV service provider in the UK or US, then, search for a TV show, person or movie and LocateTV will do the rest.

Give the LocateTV application a try, and let us know what you think. We hope you find it useful.

Start watching TV seasons from the first episode

by Colin on August 11th 2008 at 2:33 pm

Many TV shows are best viewed in episode sequence. For a great story, like Battlestar Galactica, you really want to start watching at the beginning of a season. If you are lucky enough to own a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) then you will want to start by recording episode 1.

For this very reason we have introduced a great new feature to LocateTV- Seasons starting this week. This lists all the TV shows with seasons starting this week where you live. Browse by day and see if you can discover something that you would like to watch. By chance I just discovered the first episode of Thunderbirds is being shown in the UK – serendipity in action.

Remember, if you know the series you are after you can always search LocateTV and find out if it is available where you live. If it is not on you can add it to your MyPicks page to easily check on later. For best results in LocateTV set your TV service provider.

Do give Seasons starting this week a try and let us know what you think!

New cleaner designs for the embeds

by Colin on July 29th 2008 at 5:10 pm

Recently we rolled out shiny new designs for the LocateTV embeds. We hope that these will enable fansite and blog owners to more cleanly let their readers know when their favourite shows are next on. As always the embed information is dynamically updated for the location of the person viewing the page with the embed in it: if the person viewing the page is from New York then they will see Next on information for TV channels in NewYork; if the person is from London then they will see Next on information for TV channels in the UK.

Anyone who already has an embed on their site will have seen the change already. For your delight here is an example embed for Max Headroom, I mean Matt Frewer…

More power to MyPicks

by Colin on February 11th 2008 at 5:11 pm

It is great to hear that people are using the MyPicks feature on LocateTV to keep up to date with when their favorite shows and actors are available to watch. Already we have been asked if the limit of items that can be added to a MyPicks list can be raised – so now we have done just that! You can now add up to 24 people, TV shows or movies to your MyPicks list to keep track of when they will next be shown.

It is important to remember that the MyPicks list uses cookies stored on your computer – your picked items could be lost if you clear private data within your browser’s settings. If you wish to make the list permanent or to share with a friend or on another computer then please follow the instruction on the MyPicks page.

So, for those that asked, 24 is now the magic number. Enjoy.
